Adobe Firefly’s pricing makes more sense than it used to. There are now four standalone paid tiers from $9.99 to $199.99 a month, a free tier, Creative Cloud bundles, and enterprise. The credit system layers on top of all of it.
I’ll break it down without the marketing spin.
The Generative Credits System
Everything in Firefly pricing revolves around generative credits. Credits are consumed when you:
- Generate an image in the Firefly web app
- Use Generative Fill or Generative Expand in Photoshop
- Use Generate Image in Adobe Express
- Use AI features in Illustrator (Generative Recolor, etc.)
- Use any other Firefly-powered AI feature across the Adobe suite
Most standard generations use 1 credit. Video generation costs significantly more:
| Action | Credits Used |
|---|---|
| Standard image generation (web) | 1 credit |
| Generative Fill (Photoshop) | 1 credit per generation |
| Generative Expand | 1 credit per generation |
| Veo 3.1 Fast video generation | 80 credits per 4-second video |
Credits reset on your monthly billing date. They don’t roll over.
All Current Adobe Firefly Plans (2026)
Free Tier
Cost: $0/month Credits: A limited number of free daily generations (Source) Apps: Firefly web and mobile apps Key limitations:
- No access to FLUX.2 [pro] or Nano Banana Pro; Veo 3.1 Fast and Kling 3.0 (720p) are capped at limited daily generations (Source)
Good for: Testing Firefly before committing, occasional personal use, learning prompt techniques without financial commitment.
Firefly Standard
Cost: $9.99/month (Source) Credits: 2,000 generative credits/month Apps: Firefly web and mobile apps (generate, edit, Boards, Video editor) Does NOT include: Photoshop, Adobe Express Premium
The Standard tier includes Firefly Image Model 4 with unlimited generations, plus credit-limited access to Veo 3.1 Fast (up to 25 four-second videos) and FLUX.2 [pro] (up to 100 images) (Source).
Good for: Casual creators who’ve outgrown the free tier but don’t need Photoshop integration. If you’re mainly generating standalone images in the Firefly web app, Standard is the right entry point.
Firefly Pro
Cost: $19.99/month (Source) Credits: 4,000 generative credits/month Apps: Firefly + Adobe Express Premium + Photoshop
This is where the value math gets interesting. Firefly Pro includes Photoshop, which means Generative Fill, Generative Expand, and the rest of Photoshop’s non-destructive AI workflow. Getting Photoshop access at $19.99 alongside 4,000 Firefly credits is notable.
Firefly Pro also adds unlimited access to Flux Kontext pro and Flux Kontext max — models that don’t get unlimited access at the Standard tier.
Good for: Independent designers and photographers who want Photoshop’s Generative Fill integrated with their Firefly workflow without committing to a full Creative Cloud plan.
Firefly Pro Plus
Cost: $49.99/month (billed monthly); 30% off the first year if billed annually (Source) Credits: 10,000 generative credits/month Apps: Firefly + Adobe Express Premium + Photoshop
Pro Plus unlocks unlimited generations on all image models plus select video models — including Kling 2.5 Turbo, Nano Banana 2 (1K and 2K), and ChatGPT Image 2 at low and medium quality, plus 21 additional models. At 10,000 credits, this is the practical ceiling for image-heavy production work.
Good for: Creative teams with high image generation volume, or anyone who needs access to a wide range of third-party models without worrying about individual model credit costs.
Firefly Premium
Cost: $199.99/month (billed monthly); first year promo at $118.93/month if billed annually (Source) Credits: 50,000 generative credits/month Apps: Firefly + Adobe Express Premium + Photoshop Positioned as: For high-volume video production
Premium’s headline feature is unlimited access to Veo 3.1 Fast, Kling 3.0 at 720p, and Nano Banana Pro at 1K, 2K, and 4K — plus 23 additional models.
At $199.99/month, this plan is not for image creators. It’s for video production teams generating substantial AI video output. If your workflow is primarily still images, Pro Plus at $49.99 covers more than enough model access.
Good for: Video production teams and agencies where AI video generation is a production workflow, not an occasional tool.
Creative Cloud Photography Plan
Credits: 1,000 Firefly generative credits/month on the Photography 1TB plan; 100/month on the Creative Cloud Photography 20GB plan (Source) Includes: Photoshop, Lightroom, Lightroom Classic
If you’re a photographer already using Photoshop and Lightroom, this plan gets you in-app Firefly access alongside your existing workflow tools. Generative Fill in Photoshop — removing objects, extending backgrounds, replacing elements — is one of Firefly’s best use cases, and it works most naturally within Photoshop’s non-destructive editing workflow.
Creative Cloud Single App Plans
Credits: 25 Firefly generative credits/month
Individual app subscriptions (Photoshop only, Illustrator only, Premiere Pro only, etc.) all include 25 Firefly credits (Source). If you’re already paying for one Adobe app, you’re getting Firefly credits whether you use them or not. Twenty-five credits per month is not enough for serious Firefly use.
Creative Cloud Pro (formerly Creative Cloud All Apps)
Cost: $69.99/month (annual contract, billed monthly) (Source) Credits: 4,000 Firefly generative credits/month Includes: Full Adobe suite — 20+ desktop apps including Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro, After Effects, InDesign, and Acrobat (Source)
4,000 credits/month handles most professional workflows where AI generation supplements rather than drives output.
The comparison to standalone Firefly: Creative Cloud Pro at $69.99 gives you the same 4,000 credits as Firefly Pro ($19.99), plus the entire Adobe suite. If you use five or more Adobe apps regularly, there’s no standalone Firefly math that beats it. If you use one app and mainly want Firefly, the standalone tiers are more efficient.
Creative Cloud for Teams
Cost: $99.99/license/month (Source) Credits: 4,000 Firefly generative credits/seat/month
Team plans include the same 4,000 credits per seat as the individual Creative Cloud Pro plan, with team administration built in. For organizations with multiple creative seats, this is the standard commercial offering.
Enterprise Plans
Cost: Custom (contact Adobe sales) Credits: 4,000 credits/month for premium generations, unlimited standard generations (Creative Cloud for enterprise Edition 4) (Source) Adds:
- Custom training capabilities (fine-tuning on brand assets)
- Dedicated account management
Enterprise is the product for large creative agencies, media companies, and corporations where brand consistency, security requirements, and volume make the standard plans insufficient.
Generative Credits: How Fast Do You Actually Use Them?
Some usage patterns to calibrate your credit needs:
Blog/content creator (occasional use):
- 3-5 hero images per week
- Some prompt iteration
- Standard tier (2,000 credits/month) is plenty
Freelance designer (moderate use):
- Daily use for client concepting
- Generative Fill to extend and modify photos
- Plan recommendation: Firefly Pro ($19.99/month) — Photoshop included, 4,000 credits covers a solid design workload
Studio / creative team (heavy use):
- Multiple designers, daily generation, production workflows
- Plan recommendation: Creative Cloud for Teams (4,000 credits/seat)
Enterprise / agency:
- Volume that exceeds monthly credit limits
- Custom model training needs
- Plan recommendation: Enterprise
Is Adobe Firefly Worth It?
On image quality: Firefly is competitive with the leading image generation tools for photorealistic commercial imagery. The key differentiator is the commercial licensing. Adobe’s first-party Firefly models are trained on licensed Adobe Stock images and public-domain content where copyright has expired, which means their output doesn’t carry the IP uncertainty that open-model tools can; for the third-party models Firefly also offers, Adobe says creators are responsible for determining whether they are appropriate for commercial use (Source). For commercial use, that matters.
On ecosystem fit: if you’re already in the Adobe suite, Firefly’s integration with Photoshop (Generative Fill, Generative Expand) and Illustrator (Generative Recolor) is better than using a separate AI tool and importing results. The in-workflow integration is real value.
On the standalone math: Firefly Pro at $19.99 is the most interesting plan in the lineup. Photoshop at that price point changes the calculus for independent creatives who want AI-integrated image editing without committing to a full Creative Cloud subscription.
